This was a lucky moment..... it is now my screen saver.
At 3 weeks old, he is so big and has such wonderful form.....watch out DAD, here we come!!!!
Tomato has 2 speeds: canter-all-out AND stop. Did I mention that when he stops he proceeds to bounce in place....lots if pirouettes to be had today.
What a face -- out of probably twenty to choose from to post, I love this one because he is looking at us with something to say. He is a ripe one.....how exciting!!!!! I just love the red-heads!!!!!!
After awhile of just sheer silliness, he tired out and started cantering with a mature horse's balance. His walk (which was non existent today) and canter are incredibly balanced. Have to admit, I have not actually seen him do 1 trot step yet....but, that is just fine by me as I know Veronica, Vinca and can see the trot is all genetically there from Technique, too. I don't question Tomato's ability to move......I only question my decision to castrate him. He's special!!!!!
After some time tromping around the field and literally jumping imaginary monsters in the grass, Tomato is all mush. I kneeled down and he came over for some kisses. Everyone at Flower Farm has spent so much time with Tomato that he is just the most friendly thing ever -- Thank You!!!! Andy (Ginger's soon to be husband), apparently, is as in love with the 'Mater as I am. It seems we have similar taste -- Andy fell in love with Veronica at DAD 2011......it is because of my belief in Veronica that The Tomato is for me.
Heading off to Flower Farm for a visit with Tomato, Ginger, Erika, et all, was a wonderful field trip to be had. Today, Thornridge's Claudia and Erica had a chance to meet my carrot-top and understand why my life has taken a swift swing in the last 3 weeks. I am so excited about my new friend and cannot wait to become his best friend in 6 months.....I feel like the luckiest girl alive. Now, if I could just find more time for more regular visits, all will be good in life.
