ALWAYS ACTING FAST, EVEN UNDER PRESSURE

One large tree and several other tops took down this overhead power line. We waited on Manor Rd for 2 hours until a crew would actually agree to ground the line. Phone calls to BGE did not seem to be enough to get this done promptly so we went to the source directly.
There were a total of 6 trucks here to restore electric and replace telephone poles that had been snapped in half.

Having some fun in the process -- We noticed that only one of 6 trucks was surrounded by regulatory cones, so, after getting to know the young crew from Alabama, we decided to transplant those cones around Claudia's jeep....haha.

The fierce electric storms of late September brought with them funnel winds that caused a lot of damage on the farm. A total of 5 trees were downed and all 5 went thru fence lines!!! Per our ordinary response to disaster, all trees were removed and fences fixed in less then 24 hours. By working together as a team, we weathered this summer storm as well as we survived the double blizzards earlier this year. Our lesson learned is that it is now time to splurge on a generator at the house. The barn has been complete with a generator since 2000 -- we now need the same luxury as the horses!!!
