Veronica is the perfect sweetheart everyday!! And, her performance at her second show was no exception. Baby V scored 77+% both sat and Sun in her Materiale Classes. Her trot cadence and natural suspension continues to be her highlight with the Judges, but from a trainer's perspective, I covet her canter. We have been working daily to gain more stamina in the canter work...again, I need to remember V is only 4 months under saddle. But, when she carries herself in the canter, it is amazingly uphill and balanced AND her best gait!! Judge's have indicated that I need more reach in canter....so we have been rolling. Judge on Sun said that canter is going to be great but that it is currently too up and down...well, that is my Bad for riding her up. I don't want a flat canter, I want more of 1st into 2nd level balance for expression....hmmm. Both Sat and Sun we completed Tr3, and I could not be more proud of BabyV as she gave her heart and focus to me in the ring both days, scoring 62+%. The canter up trans are still tentative, but once she gains more confidence, the smoothness will be there and she will be steadily in the 70's. Wow, what a great start to her performance career she has begun. BabyV has a heart of gold and is so sensible. The temps this past weekend were severely low with high windchill and she never once put a foot out of place. There was a flag whipping right beside the warm up arena and she heard it but kept attention on me the entire time!!! Starting on Fri, Veronica accrued a fan base at the show -- there were a number of people who came to watch her warm up and then followed her to the ring on both Sat and Sun. There was even 2 groups of people who sought us out in stabling and spent specific time with V. Ugh, my heart will be broken when she is sold....my only solace will be that BabyV's heart will be broken, too. She so looks to me for everything these days and when I pass her field and/or stall during the day, she sweetly knickers to remind me that I am her sweetheart, too. Our continued goal is to press forward in competition, represent Vinca's offspring with style, and eventually sell this international talent that I have fallen in love with .
