I'M INSPIRED, NOW I JUST NEED MORE HOURS IN THE DAY......BUT, I WILL FIND THE TIME.......

PHOEBE & BAMBI

CHUCK & GOPHER

The owner of Magnolia Dressage is an awesome artist...there is fine art, of multiple mediums, ALLL throughout the house, and barn lounge. How COOL? Cathy has painted everything in her life that is important to her and some unique perspectives along the way. Three days after our arrival, she had Chuck "model" for her bi-weekly art gathering. Poor Chuck was very out of his box, but he and Gopher sat still for their three 20 min sessions. I have taken a picture of the framed pose that my two favorite men gave -- the artistic rendition is by the talented and intense John Rice. All 7 artists were very unique in their depiction of Chuck and G-Man and we were given copies of all final art work. Fast forward to two weeks later.....well, that leaves me as the model. Hmmm...I thought, Gopher has already been used, so what am I going to do to make an impression? Well, my rat friends prevailed!!! Andrew was still looking under the weather from his tromp with the dingo, so BAMBI it was. Pictured here is one of the many perspectives that was given to me after the evening of modeling. The BIG surprise is that I also wore my new show patent leather boots for the sitting....so, once John is finished with his painting, I will post that picture...after all, it is all about the rat and the show boots I have been anxiously awaiting since Aug....LOL!!!! Oh my, these people must seriously think that I am beyond eccentric when I shows up having a RAT on on my shoulder??!!

I used to love drawing and painting...heck, I was termed a "gifted and talented" student from elementary thru collage years, in the arts.....but, I just never had the time to explore more options as I was always riding and with horses. I have, however, in the last few years taken the time to do a few special series in photography.....and, I find, that provides me with even greater enjoyment. So, after last night, I decided that I am doing a new series of concrete figurines located on the FL farm. After all, how cliché is it for photographers to do cemeteries? At least this is vibrant concrete statues......I think I will name the series "Florida Gnomes." But, I have to admit, someone else (Ginger & Baby V) inspired the title.
