I Am Lucky To Have A Special Village......

Andrew & Bambi were so excited from the first day's success that they came out to play.

Gopher is a wonderful show dog. He is so tolerant and able to take a back seat from attention while we are at shows. So, when we got back to the hotel, I rewarded him with a RAT of his own. It was killed within 5 minutes. Actually, the 10 toys that I brought to FL for him are already skinned, so I will need to add a pet store visit on my to do list to restock the toy supply!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Many Times Over: Claudia and Erica drove all the way down here on Thurs evening so that they could go to the show with me on Fri-Sun. They then woke up at 3 am Mon to head back to MD. The whirl-wind weekend was exhausting for both of them. I know Claudia was worried that I would be alone at the first show and as she is so protective of me, she decided to just come on down. Flying was not an option for her as she is fearful, so driving it was. Both Claudia and Erica were grooms extraordinaire all weekend: braiding, cleaning, tacking, and generally keeping me straight. I missed not having Claudia ride as well so I may need to rectify that for next winter. Friends Juliana and Gary came each day from Zephyrhills to support me. Juliana was the eyes behind the camera, so I thank her for all of the wonderful photography from the show. Gary was eyes behind the video camera and youtube postings of the rides will be on the Thornridge Manor account very soon. Both Juliana and Gary helped us set up shop for the weekend and stayed on Sunday until we were all packed up again. As is usual, we were the last trailer to depart. Thank you to owners Suzanne and Ginger for making a trip with 4 talented horses possible. Thank you to Cathy and George for taking care of Vinca while I was at the show. And, thank you to Chuck for pre-packing show supplies into the trailer before he departed to MD. It is hard for Chuck and I to be separated and I am thankful that he is so supportive of my desire to ride and love of horses as it certainly is not just our life but our lifestyle as well. I know that it was very hard on Chuck not to be at the show because he does love to watch and be a part of the action.....texting after each ride and result posting is just not the same. I am grateful to my village for all of your support and help. XOXO, Phoebs
